About Grofers

Having launched in December 2013, Grofers is now the 5th largest organized grocery retailer in India with operations in 16 cities. Grofers became the largest e-grocer in the country with an annualized GMV run-rate of $700mn on the back of its flagship event Grand Orange Bag Days in August 2019. The online grocer also runs the largest grocery membership program in the country called Smart Bachat Club and has over 1.2 million transacting users a month. Grofers is now foraying into the offline retail space through a partnership with neighbourhood Kirana stores which would allow the e-grocer to further disrupt the category and open a new source of growth with an omni-channel strategy.

Objective of the Role 

 At Grofers, we have a strong belief in technology driving innovation across whatever we do. As we are growing, we need leaders who understand how to do that in a very dynamic environment at a scale only a handful of start-ups reach. It is especially challenging given that our business is a combination of a lot of tech and non-tech moving parts and we are growing at a pace where a lot of what we do to improve our way of working keeps getting outdated rapidly. 

For this role, we are looking for a seasoned product leader who can take charge of consumer product, develop and own the product strategy, drive collaboration across the org and guide the team to be effective in building products customers love. We expect you to drive changes to build and lead an org of product managers who understand consumers deeply, are known for being extremely scientific and data-driven while still being very humanly connected to consumers and can effectively collaborate with all functions to enable the team to rapidly innovate at scale.

 Roles and Responsibilities

  • In this role, you’ll be expected to own the roadmap for innovation to improve consumer experience and drive business growth through it.
  • Work closely with leaders across the company to iterate on our strategy and drive collaboration. Bring clarity and alignment on the role consumer tech can play and set clear expectations on what needs to be done by other parts of the org as well.
  • Lead a team of product managers - coaching them to drive strategy, discovery and execution.
  • Drive improvement in product practices to make collaboration more effective, to make the roadmap clearer and more impactful, to make prioritisation more structured, to make measurement sharper, feedback tighter, and discovery more conclusive and insightful.
  • Partner with tech leadership to enable our teams to scale with the breakneck speed we are growing at.

Desired skills & abilities

  • You have 10+ years of work experience in the technology product space, with proven experience as a product leader, working with large cross-functional teams at scale
  • You have proven skills in data-driven product management and are skilled in product practices around strategy, discovery and roadmap management
  • You believe in empowering and coaching juniors while ensuring outcomes, instead of working through giving orders or giving authority without accountability
