Objective of the Role:

We’re seeking a dynamic and creative person to come work alongside the CTO to manage product, engineering and design, driving change while keeping everyone working together.  This is leadership role, not an EA position.  Acting as an extension of the CTO, you will receive broad exposure in the workings of scaled product and engineering teams, preparing you for a number of senior leadership positions.

 

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Key advocate and facilitator of effective decision-making—both within the CTO’s domain and, where relevant, across the organization. The CoS will proactively document/manage requirements for organizational change, decisions taken for resolution, and program execution .
  • Effectively communicate complex organizational issues through formulation and delivery of presentations, financial models, reports, etc.
  • Act as a vigilant gatekeeper to protect the CTO’s time, proactively solving problems, mediating disputes, and dealing with issues before they escalate to the CTO .
  • Ensure meetings are relevant, well structured, and that preparation is both complete and correct - Assist in strengthening and setting the tone of company culture in all that you do .
  • Alignment and communication: - Facilitating creation of OKRs and ensuring they are tracked effectively. - Working with HR on employee engagement and growth plans - Coordinating communication of roadmaps to stakeholders - Event management and design including offsites, all-hands and trainings .
  • Operations: - Financial reporting and cost management - Procurement and negotiations with vendors - Managing the tech ops team responsible for administration, tooling and processes .
  • Strategic: - Vendor evaluation and industry analysis - Evaluating acquisition targets and partners - Building an OCTO team to investigate emerging technology and execute special projects

 

Desired Skills & abilities:

  • Experience in a technology organization in a managerial role (product, project or engineering management)
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects at the portfolio level (multiple teams and tracks of work)
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • High EQ as important as IQ
  • Experience effectively interacting with senior stakeholders on cross-functional projects
  • Decisive: you know how to get to the root of an issue and steer to a decision
