Objective of the Role: 

Associate Director- Fulfillment Centre Operations will be responsible for leading end to end activities pertaining to warehouse operations including operational activities, process engineering initiatives, people management and profit and loss for all the facilities under the span of control. The role holder will be instrumental in developing, streamlining and enhancing the supply chain efficiencies at Grofers.

Roles & Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for driving and leading warehouse operations and operations development initiatives
  • Own and manage P&L of all facilities under control and take steps to reduce operational cost 
  • Design and implement warehouse SOPs and optimise operations workflow
  • Manage a large operations team (500+ employees off roll and on roll) and deal with staffing issues such as interviewing potential staff, conducting appraisals and performance reviews, as well as organizing training and development programs
  • Improve operations efficiency by introducing supply chain best practices on process improvement and process excellence
  • Maintain different performance metrics at warehouse level, ensuring timely reporting on daily, weekly and monthly basis
  • Undertake cost optimization
  • Manage cross-functional stakeholders and ensure smooth coordination amongst different teams


Desired Skills & abilities: 

  • Graduate/Post Graduate with 7+ years of work experience in managing warehouse operations
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of warehouse operations and concepts, SOPs/SLAs and Metrics
  • Adept in the concepts of lean and six-sigma with previous experience in driving process improvement and cost optimization initiatives
  • Ability to manage a larger team and off roll manpower (at least 500+)
  • Excellent team management ability and communication skills
  • Problem solving approach and strong business acumen
